Truth - Puppets LP
Since their debut appearance on Deep Medi Music, Truth has been hard at work on their LP and now it’s ready to drop. With the initial album sampler (LAB010 ‘Dead Silence’ & ‘Burglar’) laying the foundations, the second 12” LAB011 (forthcoming on 9th August) reinforces with ‘Juno’ & ‘Under Current’, two huge stepper grooves layered with more than enough weight for the shockout. The album itself ‘Puppets’ is a dense trip through moody big bass-driven soundscapes that include some of their finest work in the form of ‘The Fatman’, ‘Lab Rat’ and a VIP of the previously released ‘Terror Planet’. Also on the roster, Truth’s ‘Legion’, possibly their most sought-after riddim to date, which brings their trademark sound signatures of sweeping synths and massive amounts of bass fully into place. ‘Pup- pets’ touches on many styles such as the liquid offering of ‘Indigo Mood’, or the almost genre defy ..more | |

Skream - Outside The Box LP
SKREAM - OUTSIDE THE BOX (TEMPA) - WORLDWIDE RELEASE DATE 12 AUGUST 2010
PLEASE NOTE: THE LIMITED 2CD IS AVAILABLE ON *PRESELL ONLY*, ONCE THEY'RE
GONE THEY ARE GONE.
Ollie 'Skream' Jones is on a major roll. The 25 year old Croydon DJ, producer and original dubstepper had the festival anthem of last year with his Let's Get Ravey remix of La Roux's 'In For The Kill'; he's just been featured on the cover of NME with his Magnetic Man co-stars Benga and Artwork (not to mention the covers of DJ and Mixmag) and as we speak, he is all over Radio 1 with the lead track from his second solo album, Outside The Box.
The tune in question, 'Listenin To The Records On My Wall', is the perfect introduction to why Skream's current level of success is just the beginning. It's a joyful, ragingly energetic celebration of the last quarter decade of British street mu ..more | | Caspa presents 'My Sound'
The last time Caspa put his name to a mix compilation it was December 2007. Back then he was alongside his original partner in crime Rusko for the infamous Fabric:37 mix, the CD that had been earmarked for French-electro trendies Justice but ended up being rejected at the last minute. Fabric needed something fast and the decision was made to call Caspa and Rusko, two relative unknowns that specialized in the type of dark, off-kilter dance music that (at the time) you’d only find in small, dark, smokey basements.
Fast-forward 3.5 years and dubstep is the most exciting, youthful club music in the UK with Fabric:37 regarded as the CD that took dubstep from the underground and into the mainstream. It!s still the benchmark for all DJs in the scene to aspire to and where Caspa and Rusko were once unknowns; they are now two of the most influential DJs in the world, with Caspa’s bi-mo ..more |

Solar Bears - She Was Covered In
Hailing from Ireland; Wicklow and Dublin to be precise, Solar Bears are John Kowalski and Rian Trench, the sole producers and musicians on the album 'She Was Coloured In'. They met and formed at Pulse Sound Engineering School, started recording and were swiftly picked up by Planet Mu. The album follows in the wake of expectation laid down by their recent "Inner Sunshine EP" and a series of remixes.
Solar Bears’ music is the soundtrack to a good life. Their song writing and production has a languid, pastoral grace that intertwines rock and electronics, twisting melodies through prog rock’s structures and sounds, occasionally making sharp turns into more tense post rock territory, sliding between longer tracks and short mood-setting miniatures. The album mixes analogue electronica with the quietly epic perspective and shimmering neon synths of late 70’s, early 80’s Kosmiche musi ..more | | Klute - Music For Prophet
Klute has announced his first album in 2 years titled 'Music for Prophet', on his own 'Commercial Suicide' imprint. As on his previous albums, Klute stays true to himself with another non-commercial, yet 100% dancefloor friendly longplayer that - just like his excellent dj sets - offers the right balance of musical tunes alongside some real heavy hitters.
That was after he was in a Hardcore Punk band when he was a kid – in the 80′s, called The Stupids. They were really good at first too, but then got boring and fell apart, not after some juicy ego clashes. Anyway, Klute – Tom Withers, started back in 1994, i think when he was asked for a name to keep exclusive to Certificate 18 records when they agreed on 2 tracks to be his first single. It was there he stayed until 2000 when he delivered his 2nd final album for Cert 18 called Fear Of People. At this point in time Tom d ..more |

Fresh - Kryptonite
The most heavyweight drum & bass album of 2010 has finally arrived and it’s been well worth the wait! ‘Kryptonite’ is an electronic tour-de-force, a masterpiece of sound design and imagination from one of the scene’s most pioneering figureheads, DJ Fresh. In the making for over three years, Fresh has created a juggernaut of an LP that flickers with ease between his trademark caustic breakneck beats, feel-good vocal tracks and even some slamming dubstep manoeuvres. Essentially ‘Kryptonite’ is a rocket-fuelled ride that dance music fans the world over will be revelling in for a very long time to come. Essential.
“An album full of styles with a fresh twist…once again demonstrating why he’s one of the most talented and diverse producers in electronic music.” Andy C
“A massive tune (‘Hypercaine’), Fresh has done it again” Zane Lowe

‘Da Trak Genious’ is Planet Mu’s compilation of the Footwork tracks of DJ Nate, born Nathan Clark, a 20 year old artist who grew up in the westside of Chicago. He started making Footwork tracks 5 years ago, more recently turning his hand to Hip hop and R'n'B, and the album is an archive compilation of his productions.
This is Nate’s first ever worldwide album release. It’s essentially a selection of tracks that have come out on small edition cdrs and tracks posted on youtube and imeem. This is how Planet Mu first heard his music, which has gathered a small but enthusiastic band of followers and fans who have been itching to hear more from Nate and know more about the genre.
